RB Robotic Base Series

The RB series is a robotics base system built by Reeco Automation. The RB system is a versatile, mobile solution for human-robot collaborative assembly.

The system has been designed to allow it to be brought to the site of operation easily where it’s quickly ready for use. The robot base is designed and built in house to fit the application.

The RB bases are very often built into existing customer systems and our engineers work in collaboration with site engineers to ensure the designed build meets site requirements.

Versatile

The RB system is highly versatile and available in a wide variety of versions.

The system is highly durable with an unlimited number of customisation options.

Multiple Bases

The RB Base is a totally bespoke system, therefore it can be manufactured to fit with other stations that are the same.

For example, you could have multiple RB Bases situated next to each other.

Storage

The RB Base is designed to store the robot cabinet and associated cobot tooling cabinets for example, a DC Tool. It is temperature regulated to avoid overheating and its avoids electrical components being exposed.

Customsiable

The table below relates to the RB 750 model, 750 stands for 750mm, the height of the robotic base. You can download a full copy of the spec sheet here: RB 750 Spec sheet. The height of the base is totally customisable based on what is required for the application.

Safety Scanners

The RB series comes with an optional Keyence distance safety scanner, the scanner is connected directly to the Cobot safety PLC and reduces speed when operators enter the working area of the Cobot.

The scanner is also connected to lights underneath the base which react to changes in the working space. The lights change colour to indicate the system status, ensuring operator safety by providing visual feedback to movement and changes in the working area.

PLC and HMI

The RB base can be fitted with a PLC and HMI to communicate with external equipment or compile information for the operator on a stand alone station.

Siemens is generally the preferred PLC of choice however other brands can be considered.

Pictured to the left is how the base looks with the hardware fitted.

Remote Access and CCTV

We offer the very popular remote access and CCTV package when purchasing a base for your robot.

Remote access lets you quickly react to unexpected issues or performance related problems as soon as they occur. The system gives you fast access to expert knowledge and assistance, limiting any potential downtime and reducing the need for site visits.

The RB Series

The majority of the RB base structures are held in stock for the different sizes of base, however 1 of 1 builds can be produced to better fit your requirements.

Each structure can be retrofitted with optional extras as per request.

Base Case Study

See our video above of a recent installation we’ve completed at a lighting manufacturer in Rotherham. You can see two of the RB bases situated into their existing production line.

ASD Lighting
Established Rotherham based lighting manufacturer ASD, have embraced Industry 4.0 technology and recently installed two ‘cobots’ onto their street lighting production line.

This is a bold move for ASD with concerns that automation will replace jobs, however this couldn’t be further from the truth.
