Extons Reflects on a Year of Automation with Reeco’s RB1200 Palletiser
One year after installing the RB1200 palletiser from Reeco Automation Ltd, Managing Director, Liz Exton, of Exton’s Foods Ltd has shared its experience of bringing automation into its production process.

In a new video, Liz talks through the decision to invest in a robot palletiser, the pre sales process, how the installation went, how the installation went, and what the past year of operation has looked like since it was introduced onto the line.
The RB1200 Palletiser was brought in to take over palletising at the end of the line, reducing the need for manual handling. Over the past year, it has become part of the day-to-day running of the factory, helping to keep output consistent and freeing up time elsewhere in the operation.
Explaining the decision to work with Reeco, Liz says: “Obviously it’s been a very good thing for us, but just do your homework. We went to Reeco, we took all our product in there, we checked that they could cope with it, and got a video of everything, the palletisation happening, that made us feel confident in the process before we bought the machine.”
Looking back on the installation, she describes the process as straightforward, with minimal disruption to production. Having the right support in place made it easier to introduce the system without affecting the wider operation.
When asked about the impact on productivity, Liz explains that the RB palletiser has “streamlined the process” and adding how the RB palletiser “made the line run more efficiently,” since its introduction.
The video also touches on the wider role of automation within the business. With the cobot palletiser in place, the end of the line has become easier to manage, allowing the team to focus attention where it is needed most.
For others considering a similar move, Liz suggests taking the time to understand the required process and choosing a solution that fits how your business already works.
The project reflects an ongoing working relationship between Reeco and Extons Foods, with continued support helping to keep the system running as expected.
