Reeco Celebrates 10 Years of Innovation in Robotics and Automation

Founded by Llewelyn Rees as Reeco Automation on 1st September 2016, the company began with a focus on helping manufacturers embrace collaborative robotics and new approaches to automation.

Ten years later, Reeco has evolved considerably, expanding its technologies and expertise while remaining focused on the same fundamental challenge: helping manufacturers use automation to improve productivity, efficiency and the way people work.

Today, Reeco's capabilities span collaborative and industrial robotics, end-of-line automation, including robotic palletising and case packing, and autonomous mobile robots.

More recently, the company has also been exploring therapidly developing potential of humanoid robotics and artificial intelligence –technologies that demonstrate just how significantly the robotics landscape haschanged since Llewelyn established Reeco Automation in 2016.

Over the last decade, Reeco has worked with organisations across a range of industries, helping manufacturers automate processes, overcome production challenges and introduce new technologies into their operations.

The anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on that journey, from the beginnings of Reeco Automation in 2016 to the organisation Reeco has become today, while recognising the employees, customers, suppliers and partners who have played a part along the way.

The manufacturing and technology landscape Reeco operates intoday looks significantly different to that of 2016.

When Llewelyn Rees founded Reeco Automation, collaborative robotics represented an emerging opportunity for manufacturers looking for more flexible and accessible ways to automate.

In the decade since, automation has become increasingly important to manufacturers of all sizes, while rapid developments in robotics, vision systems, artificial intelligence and autonomous technologies have created entirely new possibilities.

Reeco has evolved alongside those developments.

Its work today includes end-of-line robotic systems such as palletising and case packing, collaborative and industrial robot applications and autonomous mobile robots designed to move materials around manufacturing environments.

The company is also looking towards the next generation of automation, including the role humanoid robots could play in workplaces in the years ahead.

Throughout that evolution, Reeco's focus has remained on applying technology to real manufacturing challenges and helping organisations understand where automation can deliver genuine value.

Looking towards the next ten years

Reeco's tenth anniversary comes at a time when productivity and investment in advanced manufacturing technologies are increasingly important for UK industry.

With manufacturers facing pressures including skills shortages, rising costs and the need to compete internationally, Reeco believes robotics, automation and AI will have an increasingly important role to play.

The company plans to continue developing its automation capabilities while exploring emerging technologies and new applications for robotics.
